Dr. Moya is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Biomedical Engineering department at Boston University. Dr. Moya is interested in how unique neuronal cell types in the brain wire together to form functional neural circuits. In her postdoctoral work, she is applying cutting edge techniques for imaging neuronal activity and for molecular identification of cell types to develop new experimental approaches that can map brain circuits at high-scale. In the future, she plans to apply her skillset to understand how precise neural connectivity is established during development, and how it can change in response to disease. In addition to the Henry Grass Rising Stars in Neuroscience award, she has received a Ruth L. Kirschstein Postdoctoral National Research Service Award (F32-NIMH), as well as a Distinguished Fellowship from the Center for Systems Neuroscience at Boston University.
