Project Title: Unreliable synaptic transmission as a possible enhancer of
learning performance in neural circuits
Abstract:
The unreliability of chemical synaptic transmission has classically
been viewed as a source of detrimental noise that needs to be overcome
for effective neural computation. The present project will
investigate, via computational modeling, the hypothesis that
unreliable synaptic transmission can improve learning performance in
neural circuits.
